Acupuncture comes from a complete system of medicine and healing known as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM has been practiced for over 5,000 years and has been selected by the world health organization for worldwide propagation to meet the health care needs of people around the world into the 21st century.
Acupuncture is part of Traditional Chinese Medince (TCM). TCM is composed of acupuncture,herboloby and dietary therapy. Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine, sterile needles into specific points to promote healing and stop pain. In China, it is believed that this helps to active "Qi" or energy, within the body to harmonize the functions of the internal organs.
How does it work? Acupuncture works by promoting the body to heal itself. It has been shown to boost the immune system, increase the production of endorphins and activate the endocrine stystem within the body. |
